OLIBANUM
Sandalwood - Perfume
Product’s description
An irresistible sandalwood illuminated by delicate ylang-ylang and notes of roasted cumin.
What is sandalwood?
Native to South India, sandalwood is a tree whose main varieties in perfumery now come from Australia, New Caledonia, Sri Lanka, and Tanzania. Nicknamed the 'King of Woods,' sandalwood holds an important place in Hindu rituals, where it is used for body cremation, temple construction, and incense stick production. Alpha-Santalol, one of its main molecules, is responsible for the therapeutic virtues attributed to it in traditional Chinese, Tibetan, and Ayurvedic medicines, while Beta Santalol, a milky molecule reminiscent of madeleine and amaretto, has made it famous in perfumery. It is an Australian Santal Album that gives our Sandal its slightly creamy facet.
