Driven by the family entrepreneurial spirit, and founded in 2007 by Chantal Van Winden and her husband Raymond Durivage and family members, Olimega has always strived to perpetuate and develop the farm with respect for the terroir and constant development. As farmers, Olimega is very concerned by the respect for our environment, for our own health and also to maintain the richness of our soil, which the quality of our Camelina crops depends on. As a result, we practice a reasoned agriculture, which respects nature and our terroir at its most, and intervene as little as possible. Olimega is the pioneer producer of Camelina products in Quebec. Certified GMO free, GSFI and organic, we produce and bottle everything at the farm.

CAMELINA SATIVA PLANT:
Camelina sativa has already been in use among the Celts (year 800-450 BC). the plant has been experiencing a revival in recent years in Northern Europe, mostly owing to its outstanding property in terms of health (polyunsaturated fatty acids/Omega-3). From this amazing plant, Olimega produce a unique camelina oil. its unique and refined taste makes it a sought-after product for chefs and foodies. The best substitute for olive oil. (Smoke point: 475 degrees Fahrenheit). 2 spoons a day and you get all your Omega-3 for the day. The farm also produce and manufacture Camelina raw seeds. There are hyper proteined and extra rich in fiber. The best substitute to to Chia and flax seeds, the Camelina seeds are very versatile in the kitchen too. Chefs, foodies and vegans love them.
