About

Fidora family has been producing wines in Veneto since 1927. In 1974 it started its pioneering project of organic viticulture and today it carries it out in all its estates. Now the land is biodynamic Demeter certified and in 2021 the production of biodynamic eggs and egg pasta started.

In Tenuta Civranetta, an ancient Benedictine estate founded 600 years ago in the Venetian hinterland, the Pleistocene soil of the Venice lagoon finds its maximum expression in still and sparkling white wines production. The reds are produced in Valpolicella, where the family owns an estate in the Classica area, on the hills adjacent to the Fumane valley, and another 30 hectares in eastern Valpolicella. All of the vineyards are located on the hills, where the limestone soil and the great daily temperature variation, provide a well-drained soil and help the vines give the best bunches.

All of our vineyards are cultivated according to two essential principles: the abandonment of chemical products and the development of biodiversity. In fact, we believe that biodiversity is our most important resource to ensure that the vines develop their natural defenses and the soil remains fertile and vital.
Our biodynamic philosophy includes the vision of the estate as a single living organism, in which plants and animals coexist in harmony. This is why we encourage the development and coexistence of multiple species within the same habitat, through the use of tree-lined banks, meadows, hedges, groves and ponds: biotopes that distinguish the company and favor the natural presence of wildlife. In our estates you will find an abundance of hares, foxes, pheasants, ducks, herons and in Valpolicella also wild boars as well as many other species. In addition to this our animals are fed with our own crops and their manure is used to create compost for the soil.
