Campo alle Comete

Feudi di San Gregorio - Campo alle Comete Stupore

Description produit

Campo Alle Comete Bolgheri Stupore owes its name to the territory where the Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Petit Verdon vineyards from which it is produced are planted. They fall within the municipality of Castagneto Carducci, in the heart of the Bolgheri area. The denomination of the wine is DOC Bolgheri Rosso. The product represents the first production experience in Tuscany of the Irpinian company Feudi di San Gregorio. Campo delle Comete, in fact, was purchased from the previous owner who was the Guicciardini Strozzi family. The blend used to produce this wine recalls the tradition of classic Bolgheri, whose regulations require the use of classic grape varieties. The area of production is in the province of Livorno, where the proximity of the sea and the presence of metalliferous hills behind constitute the ideal microclimate for obtaining important red wines. Consequently, the composition of the soils on which Campo alle Comete vineyards stand is a mixture of Eocene sand, limestone and clay. The temperature excursions in August and September favour a slow and regular ripening of the grapes.
