The southwestern tip of Finistère, in the heartland of the French Cornish fishing ports, is where Joelle and Jean-François Furic decided to establish La Compagnie Bretonne. Following in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents, Sten and Maria Furic have inherited the precious expertise acquired over three generations, and with the teams at La Compagnie Bretonne they put it to use every day to bring you a wide range of gourmet canned seafood.
For the Furic family and the teams at La Compagnie Bretonne, canning is an activity that requires real expertise as well as a great deal of rigour in its own right. Making high-quality seafood products calls for an extensive knowledge of fish at every stage of production, from the moment it is caught until it is packed into cans or jars. With La Compagnie Bretonne, you can be sure of our mastery of these skills, starting with the careful selection of fish through recipe preparation and the manufacturing process.
Our ambition is to develop seafood products by using the best raw ingredients and our expertise to produce varied and balanced recipes that combine the cannery’s traditions with our creativity. We want to do this by remaining true to our values while at the same time taking a forward-looking approach to make this activity thrive and evolve in our region.
Guided by these values we will continue to bring you original recipes, both traditional and unconventional, while constantly looking for ways to balance the large variety of seafood products and their wealth of flavours. Lastly, in line with our initial choice, La Compagnie Bretonne will continue to put quality before quantity and will maintain its selective distribution methods with partners for whom ethics and quality are a priority.
