Lucuma better known as the golden fruit is a Peruvian fruit that was used by the Mochica culture as a source of energy, as the clay basins and pottery instruments can tell us. This superfruit contains carbohydrates, fiber, proteins, vitamins, and minerals. It also contains beta carotene providing its antioxidant power. It’s very popular in the Peruvian ice cream and pastry industry as one of the favorite flavors.
